The Sustainability Lounge
Sustainability Lounge is an independent forum in the field
of economics – policy – sustainability. In this forum, innovative
concepts within the field of sustainability are discussed and incentives
for responsible actions given – controversially, practically and on
a sound scientific basis.
The Partners
The series of events is carried out through an unusual partnership,
which stands as much for relevance and establishment of the topic as for
its proximity to corporate practices. Organisers of the Sustainability
Lounge are the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW),
Ecologic -
Institute for International and European Environmental Policy and Vodafone
Deutschland.
The Topics
How much responsibility do corporations have with respect to environment and society? Which environmental policy measures on national and European levels are useful, which are not? What efforts can the science community take to improve sustainability? High-ranking national and international experts will present and discuss these topics.
The Format
The Sustainability Lounge takes place four times a year in
Berlin. The venue is the Akademie
der Künste at Pariser Platz. Every
dialogue begins at 7pm. Enough time for discussion is provided after a presentation
on the given topic. Subsequent to this, the possibility for informal exchange
is offered together with drinks and buffet. The moderator of the Sustainability
Lounge is Petra Pinzler,
a European correspondent for the newspaper “Die
Zeit” based in Brussels. The dialogues will be held in German or English
Our Guests
